Hi, I just found out about my admission to duke like most people yesterday but I have not and will not be able to visit. so while it's no Chicago, there's more than enough for a college student's budget and as stated above, you can actually get into a bar/club in Durham unlike in Chicago where everything is 21+. Most go to Chicago maybe once a month tops and Hyde Park where the U of C is located is probably a worse neighborhood than the area surrounding Duke in Durham.
